French

French from Reception through to Year 6 is taught within the curriculum.

Our aim is to promote pupils’ enjoyment in communicating in another language and take this enthusiasm forward into their secondary schools.

We endeavour to develop the linguistic competence of each child by introducing and practising vocabulary, grammar and alternative language structures. The last day of each academic year is very special with a French Picnic held for all the school and Kindergarten French group.

The Feast of the Kings - Epiphany

La fête des Rois - le 6 janvier

Upper school pupils acted out a popular French tradition for Epiphany. Each one received a slice of cake (la galette des Rois). The one who found the trinket ( in our case, a raisin) became queen or king for the rest of the lesson and gave orders ( in French!) to the others.
